Tom is incredibly easy to work with. He possesses an extensive base of knowledge of multiple businesses which he was able to utilize during the negotiations on our deal. He, like me, is an entrepreneur. Ours was a dual stock sale, something which other brokers didn't believe possible. We were advised by others to make it a simpler asset sale. That would have adverse tax consequences for us and make the price exorbitant for a buyer. Tom took the time to understand the nature of our unusual structure which was helpful in presenting us to the eventual buyer. When they understand the advantages and value of how we operate they are thrilled to operate the same way. Tom saw the opportunity in the complex structure of our multinational company, other brokers saw problems. He was able to explain these benefits because he is smart and took the time to understand them.
I pointed Tom in the right direction to a company with a similar business model and he jumped on it immediately. Within a week we were in serious discussions with all of the right people. It eventually resulted in a sale. The price we got was exactly what Tom calculated we would get. It was in the high range of the estimates we got from multiple brokers.
